Default Max Tow Package on 2011 145" FX4. How do I know?

Just bought the 2011 FX4 Ecoboost SuperCrew. This thing is awesome! Ill get pictures up on this forum soon guys Anyway, I thought that I was getting the MaxTow package with the truck because it came factory with the receiver hitch, and trailer brake/traler leveling installed. But, I cant find it any where on the window sticker. Is it part of a package? If I dont have it, my manual says that I cant tow more then 9700 lbs with 3.73 gears. Anyone have any ideas??? Thanks

You most likely have just the Trailer Tow Package which comes standard on the FX4 model. And the trailer brake controller was probably added on as an option. Max Tow has an "upgraded rear bumper" and the ugly giant tow mirrors.

Do you have something over 9200 to tow? Just wondering why you are concerned. That's more than most people will ever use

Excellent choice on the FX by the way, welcome to the select high and mighty club.....

Thanks, I just wondered. I was reading my manual on towing with the Ecoboost, and ran across the tow ratings. I was under the impression that the Ecoboost with 3.73 gears was rated at 11,300 lbs towing capacity. it showed that figure to be MaxTow. It showed the towing package to be 9700 lbs towing capacity. How is that if the only thing that is different is the rear bumper and the mirrors? It has the class IV reciever hitch, trans cooler, radiator, select shift, 3.73 gears, 7 pin connector, and trailer break controller

Thank you on the flowers I dont think I have a trailer that weighs 9700 lbs, but if I haul my 70 Chevelle which weighs about 3400 on a 18" tandem axle trailer that is heavy built, then I might be getting over 5000. And I haul a small tractor and the same trailer sometimes. Not sure the weight, probably still not 9700? Anyway, I just dont know why they have the 9700 lbs vs the 11,300 lbs if the only difference is bumper and mirrors? Thanks again,

Shawn

Here in Canada I ordered a FX4 Screw 6.5 ecoboost maxtow pkg, with the std small mirrors. The large tow mirrors were optional. The max tow has more payload capacity because of extra spring in rear, so I'm told. 3.73 is std for max tow and the FX4, but the diff is an e locker on FX4.

My sticker clearly states max trailer tow with trailer brake controller-$1000, max trailer tow discount $500 (I suppose because FX4 already has 3.73)
Also has the 7700# gvwr pkg.

In any way, is this forum awesome or what? You can get more information at the touch of a button then anywhere else in the world. This forum is the reason I bought the Ecoboost in the first place. I was buying the 5.0, until I did the research on this forum reading questions like mine and getting real world answers... Thanks a ton guys! Now, back the towing already in progress!!!
