Default 2008 F150 4x4 5.4 Transmission Problems

While driving ,the trans. drops into neutral while downshifting gears and stays there up to 1-2 seconds. It is a common problem while driving in the city at low speeds. 35-25 mph.
Is anyone else having this problem ?

go back to the dealership right now! Honestly, dont bother trying to diagnose it, stick it to the dealership and bank your warranty...and demand a loaner! Something with the words Powerstroke and King Ranch on it.

Go to the dealer. That what a warranty is for. And keep us posted.

I have something similar as well. When driving along around 25-30MPH the engine will rev up to somewhere around 2000 RPM and then shifts for no reason. I guess its down shifting. I didn't know what to think about that. Its an 08 so i assumed it was fine, being that its new. Let me know what the dealer says.

Default 2008 Trans Problem

2008 f150 4000 miles. Slips in and out of gear at around 15-30 mph. Has done this since I rolled off of the lot.. Took to ford service, they told me that engineering knows of this and as soon as there is a reprogram ready they will call me. Well 2 months and 3500 miles later still doing it and no call. Just wondering if any one else has had the same issues with ford. Now it has become a safety issue because when i was turning off of a highway i became stuck in an on coming traffic lane for a second. Almost got hit!!!!!!!!!!

I am having the same problem, only when slowing down. Have not noticed a shifting problem on acceleration.

I am headed down to Ford right now ....I have the exact same hesitation and when on the highway running 70-75 with cruise if I suddenly shut the cruise off it seems to go into 3rd or something and revs up...with my foot off the pedal!! I will repost after todays events!!

Default 2008 F150 Transmission slipping at 28MPH

I have the same issue when accelerating slow between 25 and 30 MPH. Have had the problem ever since I drove the truck off the lot 2 months ago. Have not had time to take it back to dealer.

Has anyone had any luck with the Ford fixing this? Is this just a problem with the 2008 F150 ?
