1999 F150 4.2 Exhaust manifold leak.
The exhaust manifold is leaking on my 4.2 making load spiting noise on acceleration.
I have heard the 4.2 is known for exhaust manifold bolts breaking, First if I run into broken bolts does ford make stronger replacement bolts. Second any tricks or tips on getting broke ones out or just old fashion drill and extractor.

It usually turns out to be the passenger side rear bolt that finally gives out. Lots of crap can get up there! Drilling out the old one is a PITA! Mine's OK but my son in law's '02 leaks there and he's 'just living with it'.
If the noise doesn't get to you I'd just leave it. But, if you're like me it may drive you crazy over time.

I heard that eventually it could damage the head or warp the manifold so i would get it fixed, i had the shop do mine because it was cold and it cost around $500, I think Ford did redo the studs so there stronger now
EDIT, oh and its not just the V-6, Mines a 5.4 and they broke on mine
