changing steering column
I've been putting this off for weeks. Tilt dash shift 4x4 I have the part. Looking for directions on changing this. Year is 93. Thanks so much. I gotta tackle this today so all advice and directions are appreciated

In the engine compartment, undo the linkage from the stearing shaft to the tranny linkage. Mine just popped out. Take out the bolt that holds the top and bottom shafts together.
Inside the cab, take fuse panel cover off. On the fire wall where the shaft goes into the engine compartment take out the 6 (I think) bolts around the shaft. Now, I took out the 2 end bolts on the column bracket (one on each side). Unhook any conectors and pull the column out.
You will have to turn the column a little to get the tranny bracket through the hole in the fire wall.
One side note, when installing the column I had to have someone help guide the two shafts together in the engine compartment.
Hope this helps

Thanks for the info. The only thing I'm really worried about now is the column has no connectors. It only has individual wires, so I guess I will have to splice each wire and hope the ones coming from my truck are colour coded.

i wouldnt splice all them wires.... if you take the top and bottom(black case around colum) off the the colum you can remove them wires really easy.. and put your old ones on there ... this job looks intimidating but i did it on my f250 in the parking lot of wal mart a few years back...
If you get the colum from a junk yard they cut the wires so its easy to take out... thats how i got my comlum and they cut the wires... so i had to use my old ones... if you change the wires you will need a set of torx bits....
