brake lights stay on?
only once in a while the brake lights will stay on, on my mom's 07. when it happens i will get in the truck and tap the brake peddle and they still stay on. i will then start the truck, put in drive, pull forward a bit, put back in park and shut the truck off and wah lah... the brake lights go off! any ideas? i'm really baffled on this one. thanks for any suggestions.

I think he means the actual rear brake lights.
I'd guess the brake pedal position switch is sticking. It's an actual plunger switch that is on the upper part of the brake pedal.

I have an 05 with same issue. I also hear a ticking noise in steering column and trailer brake module. It seems to all be tied together and cruise does not work. While driving last night my brake lights stayed on and after about 12 miles of driving my door locks locked and my brake lights went out and the cruise started to work................. Im totally confused, oh and I took the truck to local Ford dealer the same day and they say nothing is wrong..................PLEASE HELP................thank you
