Hello all, Dave here. I have a problem and I can't seem to find a fix. The ABS ecu/hcu module on my 99 is toast. The ABS light is on and my mechanic says that it's this module. Ford no longer makes it, and the aftermarket guys haven't made one yet. It's making my trailer brakes lock up because the trailer brake controller is sensing alot of brake force being applied when it isn't. All of the ones I've found at the scrap yards are garbage too. Ford says that the new modules will not work because mine has rear drum brakes. I'm at a loss at what to do, the truck is in great shape and I'd hate to have to get a newer one because I can't find this part. If there is no fixes out there, maybe one of you can suggest a scrap guy in a part of North America where road salt is not used, because I think this is what is corroding the ones up here in Southern Ontario.
