Default Torque converter shudder TSB 10-6-6

As the TSB is written: Some F-150 vehicles equipped with a 4.6L engine, 6R80 transmission and built between 6/1/2009 and 11/1/2009 may exibit a shudder which is felt during low speed, light throttle acceleration between 30-35 MPH (48-56 Km/h). The shudder/vibration event occurs typically when the vehicle downshifts and then is followed by a light throttle tip-in.

I, like many, have the clunky/hard shifting transmission problem and finally decided to take it in to the dealer and have it looked at. Took the truck in on the 1st. They had it for a day and said the torque converter needed to be replaced per this new TSB. Had to wait for the part to come in as it was on back order. I have to wait until the 14th to take it in because they won't have a loaner for me until then. My truck is a 2010 XLT scab 4x4 4.6L with about 6900 miles on it. It was built Sept. 09. Hopefully this fixes the problem. Will let everyone know.

mine may have this too, let me know how it works out. I know when in stop and go traffic, when i am slowing down and it starts moving again, i give it some gas, sometimes it gives quite a 'clunk' shudder feeling, so maybe this is it. I got the transmission TSB done, which helped with the hard shift down from 2 - 1 when stopping and the slow shift up from 1 - 2, but i still get this odd shudder when in stop and go traffic...

I have had the new torque converter (tsb 100606), same result, shudder under light acc at 30 mph or so. Only when the truck is hot. The ford garage called in an engineer last week and they just put a new trans in the truck today. Guess what?? It still is shuddering at the same exact places and speed it did before the trans replacement !! I don't know what the to do now! Back to the dealership for round 3 I guess.

F140, where did you find this TSB? I have a link to 2010 TSBs, but it doesn't have this one, maybe there is a better site, here is what I have for 2010

http://www.ford-trucks.com/tsb/fullt...y=2010&m=F-150

I am already going to ask about 09-25-6. Either way my transmission is most certainly over-clunky,. and it needs to be taken care of someway. I got the transmission flash done, and it DID help my slow 1-2 shift and hard/push forward 2-1 shift...

Well I got the new torque converter put in a few weeks ago...Yep, it still shifts rough. Like 20F15010 said it still does pretty much the same thing as before. Sometimes it will actually shift pretty good, but other times it's as bad or worse that before. I'll be riding with friends and they'll ask why is it shifting so rough, and I'll say thats just the way it is. Pretty sad.
I've only had the truck in once for the trans issue but it's been in 3 other times for other stuff. The drivers door and back door didn't close correctly so they put in a new striker for that. And the passenger door had to be repainted because the paint was bubbling and chipping away right in the middle of the door. These problems were fixed but its still an inconvenience to have to have dealt with it.
I mean thats why I bought a NEW truck, so I wouldn't have problems like this.

I just had the torque converter put in my 2010 stx 4.6 last week. It helped amazingly. Other than the crappy customer service at the dealer, I am glad that I had it done. Like ya'lls trucks, mine has the hard shifting. I think the transmission has to relearn your driving style like when it was first bought. So expect that to dissappear after 5k.

Default Torque Converter

I also had the shuttering in my new F150 at about 8,000 miles. The dealer said it was not the TQ because it was out of the build date by 2 weeks. They hooked up a so-called "flight recorder" to the computer to monitor it. The computer showed nothing wrong with the transmission/TQ. After 3 trips to the dealer, they finally replaced it. Well, it's still not fixed. Sometimes it is almost impossible to drive. Now what?

I have a 2010 fx2 that was built 06/10. Unfortunately I get a constant shudder. I guess this wont help solve the problem?
