I have a 2005 FORD F-150 FX4 Super crew. And my fan a/c blower switch that controls the fan speed for my AC only works on 3 or 4. If I try 1 or 2 I get nothing. I bought a new switch yesterday, plugged it in, and still nothing on 1 or 2??????? Can anybody help me with this?????

You need to change your resistor. It's located on passenger side under the dash.
Had the same problem and that was it.

Can you please explain where this resistor is or do you have a picture? do i need to take the glove box out?

Yes you'll have to take the glove box out. When your glove box is tiped down, you'll see a little plastic pieces with only two 8mm nuts exactly, you'll have to unclip the bunch of wire that s attached to that before taking it off. Sorry I do not have any pics.

Mine dose the same thing but I'm only missing the number 1 speed. Been that way for quite awhile, could that also be the resistor? I have been avoiding changeing the switch because I didn't want to have to take the dash apart.

I am posting this to give you guys an idea of what it looks like on a truck with auto climate control. same location and procedure as previously shown, but replacement part looks different. I also came across people telling me just to change the resistor but mine didn't have this "resistor" that they were talking about. I did find the resistor type on older model fords but the connections were different. I hope this helps with the pic cause none of the auto part websites have pics to go along with the part.

Yup. Blower motor resistor inside the glove box area. $22 from autozone. Easy to do. 5 minutes or less
