everythiing up front works its the rear lights that's ****ed up.. turn signals work but light only illuminate when brake is pushed. Got pulled over twice last night within ten minutes for no tail lights. Luckily I wasn't drinkin ..

The bulb in our tail lights is a dual filament 3157 bulb, the rear running lights are in the same bulb as the brake light and turn signal( last 2, use the same filament) but the running lights are on ALOT more so it is normal that filament burnt out first.

If the truck is a 97 to early 00 ( up on till about march of 00) there are 2 bulbs for running/ brake&turn. best way to find out is turn on ur headlights and turn signal and take a look, if it is just flashing closer to the tail gate on back its 1 bulb, if its flashing closer to the rear wheel well its 2 bulbs and i believe the extra bulb is a 3156 same bulb but 1 filament.

When I had no running lights, it was some type of resistor/relay(???) located back of the front bumper on the driver side. It' is white/cream and U shaped. I picked one up at the junk yard for $20. Over $100(Can) at the dealer.

Sorry, when I saw running lights, I thought you were talking about daytime running lights. My mistake.

Check the plug where the tail-light harness plugs into the rest of the wires. It's toward the front driver side of the spare tire under the bed of the truck. Mine was partially unplugged and only the brake lights would work, no tail-lights. If its plugged in unplug it and check for voltage to see if you're getting any juice back there.
