Has anybody had their floor shifter chrome cap come off? Whatd u do to glue it back on?

It seems to be a common problem, I'm sure someone will chime in.

i have not had mine fall off but i've seen others that have. i would suggest just using some gorrila glue to put it back on because ford only sells the whole shifter assembly together and i think its around $100 or so. lol not worth it for the cap.

i used gorilla glue, make sure you follow instructions because the first time i didnt and had to do it again...

mine broke off and i just used good ole super glue. if you look on the the shifter there is grooves for the cap to fit in one way and i just put the glue in the grooves and put the cap on and never had it fall off since. been about a year since I had to do that. I put the glue on the inside that way i wouldnt accidentally get glue on the chrome cap.

Yeah I had this happen to me where it just broke off one day, but the truck was under warrenty and they fixed it, but its comming loose again. I think I still have the old cap somewhere too.

I was wondering about takeing the cap off so I could paint it black.
Maybe I'll just wait for it to fall off.
