So front fuel pump is bad and i was wondering what the easiest way would be to replace it. I was thinking could you just take the bed off and get to it that way?

The bed is only bolted with 6 bolts so as long as they're not rusted to oblivion (like mine) its done quickly

i heard theres not a lot of movement for the tank with gas lines abd stuff. like you have to be super careful not to pull any lines

If you've got two tanks, pull the bed off and do both, save yourself the headache. I just did mine on my 89, 6 bolts, unplug the wires on the back for the tail lights, unbolt the filler necks and lift it off. 3 guys can lift it off. What year is the truck your doing it on?

The easiest (but most expensive) is pay somebody else to do it. How's the accuracy of the fuel senders? Mine hits empty on the gauge w/ over 3 gals. still in the tank. Aren't the sender units separate from the pumps? Maybe a good time to deal w/ them.

its a 94 5.0. regular cab. BAck tank is fine. im replacing the sending unit and pump in the front. Its sold as one unit i believe.

Youll have to look in your owners manual to see the size of the tanks. Usually the front is a 19 on the regular cabs but check to make sure. Some had a 17. You can just buy the pump for those if the sender is working fine, if your interested I've got a pump that would fit that truck thats literally got less than 5 miles of use on it....I had put it on my truck only to find out it wouldnt work for my project. I'd give ya a smokin deal on it.

Oh and if you have the steel rear tank its a 17 as well....still check your book just in case.
