Default Need help to get a bitchy woman out'a my truck!

I'm right at 5K on my '09, and for the last few hundred miles, Naggin' Nancy has been bustin' my chops about whether I want to hear the Vehicle Health Report. I have never bothered to hook up Sync to a phone (Hey, the cord isn't long enough to reach my kitchen wall...) and I WANT THIS B-TCH out'a my life. I read the owner's manual and tried to find the option in the phone menu to turn her annoying voice off and can't find the right sequence on the digital dash display. What's more, if I understand how the system is supposed to work, the vehicle can't update anything UNLESS I've paired a mobile phone with Sync, so the information is useless, right?

Can someone who actually lives in the 21st century and has embraced the wonders of technology tell me how to get rid of this nagging woman? My next step is to put a 45 cal slug thru the center of the dash....

Read all about it in the manual, it says what to do to set it up, or not.

I am not trying to be a wise guy either, just too much to describe and write here in a post vs just reading it, that's all. Thanks

I haven't really gotten too acquainted with Skynet yet but I'm probably going to work on it a bit this weekend

All of my research into that field have concluded that it is impossible to do anything about that one...

Hey fellas, it is possible to turn the Sync VHR off! You need to go into the menu of the on-board computer and toggle thru the options until you find the VHR section. You can choose the mileage intervals (i.e., 2500, 5000, 7500, 10K) for it to send reports, or you can turn the thing off altogether! I said "No more d-mn VHRs, thank you!", and my inner peace and karma while driving has been greatly enhanced!

Default Sync 2.1

If you have Sync 2.0, an update (2.1) is available at Syncmyride.com.

9L2T-14D544-BE Version SYNC V2.1
This new software release, based on customer feedback, will improve Ford's 911 Assist and Vehicle Health Report features. Now you can disable the '911 Assist is set to Off' speech reminder. If you choose to turn it off, a line of text reminding you that 911 Assist is disabled will continue to be shown on the radio display. In addition to the 911 Assist enhancement, the Auto Vehicle Health Report feature will now have a default setting of 'OFF'. Simply switch to 'ON' if you wish this report to be automatically generated.

Also contained in this release are improvements to USB and Bluetooth features and phone and media device support.

Please Read: This update will take up to 8 minutes to complete. Approximately 60 seconds after you begin the installation, you will receive an Installation Complete message. DO NOT REMOVE YOUR USB DRIVE OR TURN OFF YOUR VEHICLE. You must wait an additional 4-8 minutes until you hear a second Installation Complete message before you can remove your thumb drive. During this interval, while the update is loading, SYNC will not recognize your mobile phone or media device. Be sure to have your vehicle engine running throughout the entire installation process. After Installation- Bring your USB drive back to your computer to report the successful installation
