Question Truck shakes at exactly 55 mph

So last night me and the wife were heading to the casino. The trip is about 120 miles round. We were entering into a small town just out side of where I live, and I deaccelerating, and at about 55 mph, down to just over 50, the truck shaked like a ****. Anything under, it was fine, and anything over it was fine. I can run at 60, and its smooth. It does it through acceleration too, then stops as soon as I hit 60. And it seems to be the rear end of the truck shaking, because the pickup box shakes the most. Anyone know what this could possibly be?? It scared the hell outta me the first time I felt it.

If you have the 4 speed aod then I think you are in 3rd gear, maybe 4th, I know mine switches to 3rd at about 45mph with od on. Maybe try getting the same rpm as you have at 55 mph in the lower gears and see if it does the same thing. If it does it at the same rpm it may be engine or tranny related??????-but if only at the speed maybe suspension or wheels?????That may narrow it down a little or at least rule something out.

It does it while Im coasting too. Doesnt matter what gear Im in. If I get on the gas hard, at lets say, 45 mph, I feel a little shake right around 55, then it goes away. But it is a little different with coasting. If I coast from 65, it shakes at 55, but if I dynamite the brakes, I dont feel it. The shaking is the worst when coasting

it could be alot of things, trying jacking up the truck and checking for ball joint play. be smart about it--jack and block it up, 6k pounds falling on you can wreck your day.

if i owned your truck, i would be getting irritated already. lol

I am!!! Problem here, problem there. Most are just little problems, but Man O Man, its getting annoying. I love the look, but lots of problems to take care of. After I changed the tranny oil/filter, I road tested it, and it didnt do it. It seems like it only does it on longer trips.

heres the thing...I can run around town at 40-45, and it doesnt shake. I can run about ten miles from my place to my parents at 55, and no problems. But I drove about 50 miles, at 70mph, then it acts up. Im gonna do some testing on my day off, before I take it in to the shop.
