Question 350 horsepower out of my 302?

i have a 92' f150 flareside with a EFI 302, im planning on swapping the intake and injectors over to a carbed. i would love to make like 350-400 horsepower but i just wonder how realistically my wishes are with a budget of about $1300. the motor is in my mudder/ weekend driver, what do you guys reccomend for the intake, carb, what to do with the heads...anything you can think of to gain me some power to sling the mud on the 36"x15.5 boggers. seriously i need the help make me a list i would really appreciate it...the more responses the better.

thanks,

thats a stretch. A new ford racing crate engine makes about that much power. Getting that kind of power would require a complete engine rebuild. Some people on here are doing that, but it takes a little more than 1300 in parts. Make sure to regrear to some 4.56s. That will make more of a difference if you're on a budget.

That small of a budget will be hard. Best thing to do with your budjet is regear for now then do small mods. Dual plane manifold, 650 carb of your choice, some sort of header and a mild cam. But if you want to tear into the motor get the comp up around 11 to 1. But doing all of that at one time would go out of your budget but thats just some ideas.

There was an episode of horsepower on spike TV where they took a junk 460 that they got for 300 bucks and put about 2k worth of aftermarket parts into it. it ended up making over 400hp on the dyno and close to 500 lb/ft of torque! if that thing wasn't so heavy, that might be an option. Being a mechanic helps too
