Default Need advice 1997 F150 4.6 5-speed 4x4

Okay, so I owned a 1999 standard cab 4.2 5-speed 2wd with a 8 inch lift. I sold it for $3200 and just bought a 1997 3rd door 4.6 Windsor 5-speed 4x4 that's all stock but needs a motor for $1700. I want to know what makes it special if anything. I've barely had the truck a day and I've fallen in love with it. It's an XL model. So, crank windows and manual locks, No tach, Rubber mat floorboards, 4x4 shifter in the floor, and sliding back glass. But, the previous owner did put in Lariat leather seats and a ceiling gun rack. It's very much a Man's truck. Hopefully it'll drive we'll with the new motor I'm putting in. I can't find much info on the truck, but everything about it screams rugged. So, if you've had experience with these trucks or know something interesting about them, or know something I should look out for, please let me know. Thanks! Also, what kind of mpgs should I expect?
