Default BK2's 84ish K5 Chevy build ;)

Figured i would post up my K5 blazer build on here. It will be strictly Mud racing machine.

I was in the process of building a K5 i have had for years... And came to the conclusion it was going to need a ton of body work, That i didn't want to get into too, Just yet. I needed something that was going to be half way safe lol..

I had bought a 84 2wd for parts... And ended up selling some parts and the bed/tailgate and bumper.... And then i found a guy wanting a 2wd project... But he wanted a complete running truck. Wanting to trade it for a running 4wd k5 blazer... We struck up a deal, That i would get the truck running and driving and looking decent. And he wouldn't have to mess with the K5 as i was going to be stripping it comepletly down anways.....

So i had to buy a bed and parts to make the truck decent again..lol

Picked up this well beaten 84 K5 blazer, a November 2, In Central Il

You like that?

Still November 2, lol.....That is where we quit... Sprayed the frame down with mean green and let it sit over night. In the morning we pressure washed it. This is all after we spent like 30 dollars at the dang carwash on the way home lol... It was packed full of mud.

November 11... After we cleaned the frame up some.. Got it back in the tarp shante building/garage.. Noticed the frame was pretty jank...Someone had weldeerated a patch on it.

You wish you had a grinder bench like that, ehh?

Welded in a patch under previous owners patch... Also on the back side.. It was really nasty looking back there... We ground out most of that.

It will be stock  ....

Nahh, It should be healthy,..Dome pistons,Big solid lift cam,Alum heads,5.7 lenth I beam scat rods(Stock is 5.565),Scat crank, gear timing set, roller rocks,All ARP studs/bolts,Holley 850DP,High rise single plane intake..... It won't be anywhere near stock lol... Only thing stock will be the block, And its bored .040 over, with some mods.

Hoping for around 600hp, but Really going to depend on the heads i get.... I don't have heads yet, and they are pricey, for a good set with some good porting work.

Money is always an issue. With all youve said, I'm guessing youre going to start fairly soon on the motor build.

Sub'd.

I had a 79 Jimmy for 15 years. I ran out of money in college and sold it to pay for my last semester
