I hate starting a new thread for something this stupid...if i haven't been driving around with a big hole in my dash i probably wouldn't have, haha!

I searched, but i am on my phone, and can't seem to come up with anything.

Here's the deal, i have the Sony xav-601bt . I've been able to wire it all in except for the red power wire, and the orange illumination wire.


What are you guys taping into for these 2 wires?

I didn't even try to wire direct because of the canbus system.


I used this, it retains the RAP and has all the extra wires coming out of that little black box for Nav. It has the wires you need. I know it's more $ but it makes it super easy to hook up HU.

I'm actually not wiring direct. I have the PAC adapter...i just noticed the red and orange wires on the PAC plug, do not have a corresponding wire on the trucks plug. All the others match up fine.

I thought i was good when i plugged it all in. The HU CD player fired up, but then it gave me the reminder tone to remove the faceplate. And it won't turn on.

Figured it all out. Was able to tap the purple power wire from the harness behind my coin holder (i have manual 4x4), for the red wire. I didn't need to use the orange.

I was able to use 1/2 of the PAC harness that i already had in there, as my wiring harness. I also kept my 445u wired in. Works awesome! Once i tuned the EQ, it sounds amazing!

I just have to find an FM antenna adapter now...apparently the factory antenna doesn't plug in...so i have to leave my dash apart for another day or 2 until i get that...*****
