Default Rear Sway Bars? (Any stock fitments available)

98 f150 4.6l 2WD 3.08 open dif rear end.

I'd like to have a rear sway bar, and something bolt on stock would be nice even if it means swapping out the axle for one with the proper fittings.

I did notice a heavy duty dualy with one today but I'm certainly not looking to modify this truck to carry that axle.

I am not against welding on any hangers if need be, but if I go that far I'd like to throw on some rear disk brakes while I'm putting money into mods that aren't going to carry over.

Ideas, past experiences, any links would be greatly appreciated.

I highly recommend hellwig sway bars. I have a front and rear hellwig swaybar and it made a HUGE difference in handling, with my upgraded shocks an polyurethane bushings my truck handles like a race car now. And yes its all bolt on, no cutting, welding, or axle swapping required. The front bar was SUPER easy to install but the rear was a lil harder mainly because i installed it by myself so i had to hold up the sway bar in place while i tightend the bolts at the same time. Also you have to line everything up before you fully tighten everything down, so without another person it was a lil hard to do. Heres a few pics and a link

Thanks for that link, Tone! Due to budget, I'll have to wait a bit more, but do y'all recommend I do the front first? I'll have to do one end at a time - lack of lucres.

Hey, Tone, what's the red/white thingamajig that looks like a horizontal shock? I can't find anything like that on the SD link.

Get the rear first, youll notice the biggest difference. That horizontal shock is a single steering stabilizer. Its basically a shock for you steering components, less steering wheel play when you go over bumps especially when you have bigger/heavier wheels. Easiest upgrade ive ever installed and it was only like $60. Worth it in my opinion.

I like that rear Hellwig bar. I already addressed the front with poly bushings and upgraded mounting hardware. Hopefully a Hellwig rear bar would balance mine out nicely. Does it matter if I'm using aftermarket 2" drop hangers?

How does that rear sway bar attach at the ends of the axle? I see it mounts to the axle tube in the middle..

I am bringing this back to life! I am interested in a rear sway bar, did a search and found this. Is anyone using one of these? I am thinking about getting one for my 2001 screw. Mine has 2" lowered shackles. Thanks!
