Default mustang 5.0H.O. into 92 5.0 F-150

What do I need to know before I purchase? Year of motor? I forgot to ask my brother in law... more when I get back to him...He says he thinks 91 might be 92.

Well the trucks have a different firing order than the mustang engines had. However the mustang 5.0 makes a bit more power than the truck engine. It will still work though. Me and a friend have swapped several into 150's and they run just fine. Just don't use the truck firing order when u put the plug wires on and youll be fine. Any model 5.0 engine from 86 to 95 should suit u fine. Or better yet get an Explorer 5.0 they have even more power

SSOOOO I don't need a diff ECU or nothing just follow mustang firing order. And the Mustang Intake works. I'm guessing it'll come with all the goodies. THANX an Absolute BUNCH!!

All u have to do is swap the engine out. The injectors will be firing just a hair off but it won't make any difference as far as performance or mileage. Just don't forget to use the H.O. or 351 firing order for your plug wires or it won't run at all.

As far as the Explorer engines, they have iron gt40 heads on them as well as a gt40 intake. They are a very common swap for Mustangs. They have more torque than the truck or mustang engines, and a bit more HP. It's not by much but u would see a huge diff between the truck 5.0 and the explorer's 5.0

Your injectors won't be off, they are batch fire.

The Explorer's 5.0 had 215 horsepower in 1997, same as a 1994 mustang gt's 5.0. The cobra's had 240 hp, which is what im looking to get in my truck.

i think your swap will end up working better because your truck has mass air and a 92 doesn't, but the 92 mustang did.
