Default Sct programmers

I have been thinking about getting another programmer for my truck( had an edge) and I've been looking at the sct and I was wonder if you guys that have one would recommend them? Did you notice much difference? And is it worth the money?

I went with SCT from morepowertuning.com (MPT) and so far it been great. If you order from them you get 3 free custom tunes which IMO is nice and customer service is awesome.

I do have a few used unlocked SCT sf3 3015 on hand for $275 shipped if you decide on a SCT tuner. Comes with three preloaded tunes on it and can add up to ten custom tunes later down the road if want. Just food for thought...

Those are exactly what I was looking at. Are the sct canned tunes any good? I'm not expecting a huge difference but I don't wanna feel like it was a waste

Kind of direct answer to your question...SCT you will find is the more preferred tuner for a good part of the tuning community. As far as canned tunes go, depends on your mods.

If you have minor upgrades a canned tune will be fine and give you a little seat of the pants improvement.

Buy a handheld from a company that offers custome tunes with the purchase of the tuner. I have done this and got free custom tune revisions for life with the SCT and the cost was just over the normal cost of the handheld.

You then can start out at pretty much whatever you want and as you mod your truck you can get email revisions to your tune based on the new mods.

Yes, they are good. Designed primarily for stock to close to stock vehicles with just basic boltons. Besides power increases, biggest thing you will see is throttle lag gone and much improved shifting of the transmission which is the biggest difference is in daily driving
