tread on the side wall

Default tread on the side wall

okay i seen a toyato tacoma today with big tires on it im guessing 33" mud tires. i really liked the look of the tires they had tread to the middle of the side wall if not more i can't find any thing about them on the internet that i found so far i forgot to look at the name cause i was getting back from lunch and was late so had to hurry. has anyone ever seen these type of tires or heard of them

These could be some Mickey Thompson, Dick Cepeks, or Super Swamper. The wrap around tread help protect the sidewall and give extra tread when aired down.

Yeah..agressive MT's and rock crawlers have alot of side wall tread..

k they looked sorta like a type of mickey thompsons i saw on the net but i didn't think the tread went down the side wall that much

Some of the Mickey Thonpson and Interco tires are available with crazy tread patterns....dig around and get a good idea on em. Also be careful as the really serious ones are differnt with setups on how they are put together.

Super swamper TSL SX's have a lot of side biters, so do the mickey thompson baja claws. I think the bias ply version of the 'claws has more side bites than the radial version. BTW, the TSL SX's are also bias ply. great for off road, not so great for the daily driver. SS thornbirds probably have the most aggresive side lugs, but they are horrible sand tires
