Any one else not pleased with the new ford trucks being automatic and no longer producing the standard transmission. Or is it just me? give me your opinion

My opinion is you need to learn how to use the search function. This issue has been discussed at length on many threads.

A little harsh on the reply geez. Some people swear by a standard for towing and longevity. I think times have changed. Automatics perform and last.

I’m new to the site so learning what’s what and the how to. That’s what every one says the new autos are more advanced then what used to be. But it drives me nuts when it’s not shifting to a lower gear when it should. I don’t care what any one says I prefer my 5speed

Is it too much work to toggle it down a gear? Especially if you wish you had a stick?

It would depend on how the imagined manual trans would shift. I mean, I enjoy driving most vehicles with manual trans but there are some that I'd rather have the auto. I don't like how the 6-speed feels in the super duty powerstroke so I'd take the auto, granted I know there is no longer manual option. In the ram with the cummins, I prefer the manual, especially on the older 5.9 with the NV 4500 or 5600 trans.

I don't mind the auto in my EB though. I seems to have the right gear everytime and if nothing else there's always select shift.

I don't miss customers complaining about the cost to replace the slave cylinder in a ford MT setup, so, nope, no complaints here.

Sticks are fun to drive but I commute in heavy traffic and work downtown. Sticks aren't fun there.

I have had several trucks with the manual tranny, do not miss them especially with the new 6 speed auto.

I sold both a 6-speed and 5-speed manual car to get the truck, and a year later I dont miss the sticks at all. However, I still have a manual in the 'stang
