Black trim restore, serious fading
I recently bought a black 05 f150, and the plastic trim around the bed of the truck as well as the plastic by the windshield is faded badly. How can I fix this? I prefer not to have something I have to put on every week, but I don't mind applying it every once in awhile. It just bothers me because the truck looks so good but the faded trim throws it off, that stuff is turning white!

Might try this...
Here is what I posted last August, only got one response suggesting WD40.
"I ran into a guy who takes pride in the appearance of his ride who says he uses Linseed Oil (70%) with paint thinner (30%) to restore sun faded black running boards, side mirrors, and other exterior plastic trim. Sure looked good and not at all slippery, a real consideration on the running boards.
Wondering if anyone here has tried this concoction. As I understand, it is important to not exceed 30% thinner. And, no, I didn't ask which specific thinner he used."

Try using a heat gun on a low setting. I have been detailing for 12+ years, it works. You can also try Plastic Bumper Restorer from Autoglym, works very well. I wouldn't use any type of tire dressing, as it will cause it to dry out and fade more and more over time.
You can also buy flat black spray paint, works extremely well, just tape off the bed.

Are you trying to slow the fading, restore it, or cover it up?
It can be redyed with pretty good success.
You can slow the fade and cover it up using black wow, I think this has more durability and easier to use than most others I've tried.
Cheers,
GREG
