iPad mini in-dash install
Guys,
I was inspired by tko_818 to do an iPad mini in-dash so I will give you guys my progess so far. I wanted to do it up a little different than he did and actually do mine where you see just the screen and then I will be adding a home button to the actual dash piece and making it look more factory I think. I am waiting on the button to arrive so I can get the dash kit finished and then I will be ordering my iPad mini. Here are some teaser pics..
Hole is cut and plastic trim pieces were glued in and here is the start of my bondo.
Bondo sanded down and ready for primer
Primed and ready for a little more finish sanding
Quick coat of black to see if there are any imperfections in the bondo
This will be the button i will be mounting in the dash piece to use for the home button

Cool man, nice work looks like you did a really nice job with the bondo and painting. Are you going to set the factory radio controls (sound/volume/presets etc) back in the dash or just remove them all together?
Looking forward to seeing your progress, subscribed for sure!

Thanks!! No i have already re-routed the wires for the radio part of the dash to the glove box and just have it plugged into the glove box so if I ever need anything its right there ready to go out of sight.

Haha, indeed, it takes some time but it definitely pays off. You have no idea how many people in drive thru's, traffic, friends, family etc have commented on it and went "Is that a f**king iPad?!" Plus, being a part of a brand new craze means a whole lot of interest in kits. Glad to see others trying it out with different methods and such!

The journey is half the fun bro! Well, actually, the journey is most of the PITA but once it's done you will sure appreciate all the work you put in.
