I know this has probably been hit on several times but I can't get a definitive answer anywhere, even my dealer. My dealer sent me directly to Ford Customer service who gave me the 800 number to an RV company..

I read "Prior" to buying my 2011 that this new 6 speed can be flat towed with the driveshaft in... From what I remember all that had to be done was pull some fuse so the accessory didn't stay on while the key was in the ignition.

Anybody know the truth to Flat towing the 2011 F-150?

Take a look in your owner's manual under Tires, Wheels, and Loading. Granted, my truck is a 2010 but the tranny is the same.
Under Recreational Towing my manual specifically states that a 2WD truck CANNOT be flat towed. It must be towed with all four wheel off the ground. A 4WD can only be flat towed if it has a manual transfer case that can be put into neutral.
I understand the new electronic shift Xfer case on 2012's is different and can be placed in neutral for flat towing.
Looks like you're in the same boat as me, either look into some type of driveline disconnect or get a tow trailer.

Yeah I just bought a trailer. Easier then having to deal with all the other and keeps the wear and tear off my truck.

Most Class A's I've looked at have a tow capacity of 10k pounds. How much does you truck and trailer weigh? I haven't got into the RV bit yet but figured if I did that I would have to look at something other than my F150 for a toad.

Look in your manual. This is a feature that Ford offered starting on the 2012 models. You can do It, you just have to see what your manual says to do.
