Problems Removing Coil Pack
Hey guys,
First post here but I have gotten all sorts of great info the last few months.
Here's my issue..
I have a 03 4.6 fx4 screw
I'm trying to Chang my coil packs, and went to remove the bolt holding the coil in, had read that it is a 7mm bolt, but I tried with a few different wrenches and 7mm is definately to large. 6mm and 1/4" were too small. Tried the 7mm on a few off the coil packs with same results. What am I missing and what other possible sizes could this bolt be?
Thanks

Confess, don't own and have never worked on the coil pack set up. Recall others saying to use a 7mm. Not sure if they were using a socket or a box wrench, definately go to a 6 point socket or 6 point box end wrench, don't waste your time with an open end wrench. Another thought is to get another 7 mm. Wouldn't be the first time wrenches are marked wrong.

well I tried a few different 7mm open ended wrenches and box wrenches. My 7mm socket fit snugly but I have no room to get the ratchet down there to see if the results would be the same

Well sure enough.... its a 7mm and sockets work just fine however, now Im trying to change #7 and the fuel rail is in the way so I cant get a full size wratchet in there, trying to locate a shallow one or a ratchet/wrench tool now

Can't help you with the size, but when you do get them off, go to madenterprise.com and get Mikes coil pack screw replacements. You'll have no more problems with them again.
