Converting 1990 F150 to 4WD
I know what it takes to do it. I just dont have the space and equipment to do it myself.. So i did search the forum for this and couldnt find it.. Does anyone have an idea of what this would cost me? Its a 90 f150 automatic with the 4.9 in it. I know labor rates are different in other regions.. But just an idea would be nice.. Thanks.

Greatest way to convert 4wd
Sell 2wd.
Buy 4wd.
To convert yours you would need the entire front d44 twin i beam. Or if you wanted beast mode a sas($4000 easy). T case(no idea). New driveshaft"s"(prolly a grand for custom ones). Probably new wiring. Switches. Linkages. Cut holes in our floor. Your tranny might/might not work with the t case. And when you convert the front end, some engine parts and body parts might have to be moved/modified. You would literally have to tear down the front of your truck to the frame, and start from scratch.
Sell 2wd.
Buy 4wd.

you have to source a trans and transfer, used out of a yard would prolly run about 500 for both. the 4x4 TTB axles are cheap 150-200. everything on the tbb axle will bolt right up to the 2x4 frame with no mods.just be sure to get the same trans you already have just the 4x4 version.
and as far a a sas swap you can pick up a 78-79 f150 front axle for about 200 bucks. all you do is remove your ttb stuff off and all the brackets. you'll have to drill new holes for the sas radius arms.
as far as drive shafts any factory 4x4 driveshaft will work. best way is to get them off the truck you get the trans and transfer from.
and the stock TTB front driveshaft works with the sas swap.
it is easy and cheap. if you get good prices on the parts. labor for you would be something else average shop rates run 60 an hour.
i personally IF i have all the parts on hand can do the swap in about half a day.

I was going to do this with my '95, but I'm just going to buy a beater 4x4 and use it on the weekends and sometimes during the week when I can 
But still keeping my 2wd, as it's my daily driver
