Default Ecoboost Owners: Grill Cover or Naked?

I've had mine for 5 days, 400 miles, and I'm thinking about a front grill intercooler cover. It was stupid for Ford not to supply one. I hit a squirrel last week going 50mph right in that spot! Lucky I was in my 4runner, just a dent in my tag.
I've looked at the Carriage Works 44381 and it's gone up in price
Anyway:
Yes you got one, and which one you got.
or
No, I'm going naked.
Thanks!

I have a carriage works. Got it from auto anything.com. I want to say it was under $100 shipped. Looks factory.

I bought a $36 one on Ebay and though I decided to slightly modify the way it mounted ( it mounts to the sides of the opening via the plastic instead of supported from the rear like what looks like Carriage Works has...)

I'm very happy with it's looks and function and price paid.

Black Carriage Works 44383 on my 2011 BLK EB FX4. I don't have the 3/4" rubber mod ( https://www.f150forum.com/f38/ecoboo...ght-mod-99915/ ), but it looks pretty good nonetheless. Recommended though somewhat pricey ...

Also have DBS infront of both rads.

I bought the $37.49 lower grill on Ebay. It looks a lot like the Carriage Works lower grill but it doesn't come with brackets.I made my own brackets with some small flatbar I had laying around.

Ford engineer's response when asked why the trucks didn't have one was "in all of the torture tests that we did, we never had a problem, so it's not needed"

So if my intercoooler gets damaged I am going to make Ford pay for it under warranty. If they balk I will say "your engineer said that I don't need one".

You guys must not be voting, I count 4 yes replys but only 2 yes votes.
Please vote.
And thanks for the link ishagi, the rubber spacer looks like a good idea. Nick@fastlane has a new one posted in the 2011 Engines forum, looks good, waiting on more info.
Thanks to all for the input.

I bought the Carriage Works and it was a lot cheaper a couple months ago as is reported by others now. My pictures of it are on the 2011+ Engines forum under the title Protecting Ecoboost Intercooler ( 1 2 3 ... Last Page) on page 11 post #102.

Commando, man. Besides the covers I've viewed are not aesthetically additive to my eye and block the block-heater cord.

On the other hand, if somebody made a chrome plastic mesh (not expanded steel) that match the chrome package Lariat, I'd buy it and stick it in there.
