Why my engine will crank but won't start?
I just put a 302 5.0L motor into my 95 F-150. The motor was previously in an accident where the truck flipped. The oil was a little gunky and had a little water in it, from not having spark plugs for a brief time. The engine turns but doesn't start, I checked a spark plug and I'm getting spark, I checked the fuel pressure and it's good. I sprayed starting fluid into the air filter and throttle body and still nothing. Any ideas people?

Vacuum modulator and the MAP
Hey everyone, I have a 1986 F150 5.0 V8. I have had a problem with starting the truck..I have to pop the hood and pull off the vacuum line on the MAP, let it high idle and just when its about to stall plug it back in..this is every time I need to go anywhere. I have looked for vacuum leaks but haven't found any, however the vacuum modulator is bad and I will replace it. when I pulled the vacuum line from the modulator Tranny fluid came out. I put vacuum to the modulator and the pin does not retract, so I know that's bad. My question then is or does that modulator effect the MAP sensor causing it to do the above mentioned process. Also the EGR is disconnected and will probably stay that way. I bought this truck just recently and it has been a problem child from the beginning,,,but I love it. Any help from anyone would be great. Also if you are interested in talking to me about it here's my number...706.445.9879 -Sean
