Default high pitched sound 06

from speeds 50 to 60 when i am easy on the throtle, there is a high pitced noise that is heard, almost sounds like feedback from a microphone. if i leave off gas, it will go away. or if i throtle up it will go away. also happens at 62 to 65 mph. my dad has same year, does same thing. ????? only in colder weather.

Mine does the same, I assumed vacuum leak at first. After searching on here some I found that the noise is often caused by bearings in the alternator or idler pullies.

Same here on my 05. From what I have read I narrowed it down to being the bearing in the alternator.

It's your alternator. Nothing actually wrong with it just makes the noise. If you replace it the noise should go away. That is if your willing to shell out the cash for a new alternator. My trucks a 2005, bought it in 2008 been making the noise ever since. I've just learned to deal with it. This topic has been discussed on here many times before.

Hey i have a 2006 and mine has done it off and on during the past, but now its loud as hell. lol I'm going to take mine off and have the bearings replaced. You should be able to find a shop around the rebuilds alternators and starters. I wouldn't think no more then 75 bucks to make the sound go away.
