Hello, I have a question about your old truck, just saw it on an 04-08 thread, a dark grey FX4. What were you running for wheels and tires?

hey how are you doing? i have a question about the set up of the ford truck you had posted about. I have the 2014 f150 4x4 stx that has the same rims as your truck but they have the gray paint on the spokes. when you put on the 305/55r20 tires did it rub any one the upper a arm? I ask because with the factory tires its already pretty close to the a arm and I don't want to go to the shop to get my leveling kit done then the tires not fit

The Rough Country kit is a good one but I prefer just a 2 inch limit on the front spacers to avoid any front end problems. I'm assuming you bought a new truck so I know you want the best for it. Anything over a 34" tire will rob the 5.0 of some power but as long as you stay with a 33-1/2" tire you'll be OK...a good programmer can correct these things. Do some more homework before buying anything because of the high dollar amounts involved.. I'm on my 6th Ford truck and most of them have been modded in some way. Any other questions feel free to ask! Don

I appreciate your advice. Will this rob the performance of the 5.0 that much by going with the size you suggested. You seem very knowledgeable. I am considering adding this leveling kit. Do you think it will look ok with the stock tires for now?

    Thanks

The 6 speed tranny will help out but I would limit the height to the 295x70x17 (33.5x12) they will look better too. A programmer will help out later also.

Thanks a lot! I couldn't believe the improvement a couple tweaks like that could make. So glad i went with the bilsteins, would have been crazy of me to just throw a spacer in there when i have 60k on the truck and the original shocks. Doesn't drive like a boat anymore! Thanks again! -Kellan

Ok I appreciate the info! It's amazing how much performance is lost with bigger tires. I love the look of what I have but I'm more interested in regaining some mileage and riding comfort. Thanks again PawPaw.

PawPaw great looking platinum! I have discussed tires with u before and I have another question if u don't mind. When u had 11' model and u changed to the 275/60/20 Toyo tires what did ur mileage go back to? I currently am running the At2 285/55/20 averaging around 16mpg but I'm traveling more on the highway and was wondering if a p-rated tire would help me gain some mpg back. Was thinking of going back to 275/55 or a 275/60 prated nitto all terrain. Thanks in advance for your reply

Hey just a quick question, I ordered a 2" leveling block and 2" rear block for my 2011 platinum. As well as 275 60 20 nitto terra grapplers. Is this the same combo you had on your old lariat? Thanks
