Default Numerous Dash Lights and Dash Info Screen Warnings

I recently completed an accident repair on a 2020 F150 XLT where I needed to remove the dash, windshield, and interior while disconnecting various modules and plugs. Before the final assembly was completed, I moved the truck around under its own power partly assembled with modules and plugs disconnected. Upon final assembly, I have numerous dash lights and dash info screen warnings including the controls on the steering wheel and column not operating. I do not know how to resolve the three main categories of issues: Dash Lights, Dash Info Screen Warnings, Steering Wheel, and Column Controls. All items with plugs and modules have been installed and plugs rechecked. Any information regarding how to reset/clear the issues would be appreciated. Please and thank you!

Dash Lights

· Low Tire Pressure Light (one tire does not have a sensor installed)

· Air Bag Light – airbag module has been reset, replacement airbags installed, and seat belts have been rebuilt

· Traction Control Light

· Brake Light – parking brake engages and disengages

· Electric Park Brake Light

· Anti-lock Braking Light

Dash Info Screen Warnings

· Tire Pressure Sensor Fault – missing sensor in one tire

· Steering Assist Fault Service Required

· Service Advance Trac

· Park Brake Malfunction Service Now

· Front Camera Malfunction Service Required

· See Manual with a picture of a wrench, probably 3 mm

Steering Wheel and Column

Features Not Working

· Turn Signals

· High Beams

· All Drive Modes – sport, towing etc.

· Radio Controls

· Phone controls

· Dash Information Screen OK buttons

· Cruise Control and Buttons

Features Working

· Horn

· Wipers

· Manual gear selection with the use of the button

If you could provide the actual DTCs it would make it much easier to help you.

Many of those DTCs were not present when you scanned for codes. Since you "moved the truck around under its own power partly assembled with modules and plugs disconnected" the first thing you need to do is clear all these DTCs and then start the truck and see which ones return. This should help to narrow down the issue(s).

Was DTC B1193:00 present at any time? If so, a new RCM needs to be installed.

Some information on the accident and what repairs you made would be helpful as well.

I would also make sure the battery was fully charged, start with a clean slate.

I cleared the old DTCs before I captured the new DTCs that I posted for review, I noticed no obvious change after the old DTCs were cleared. Keep in mind that everything seemed to be in working order before I dismantled the truck to repair, I drove the damaged truck approximately 700 miles to gather the parts for the rebuild. The exception would have been the front facing camera was requesting service and the airbag light was on.

Before I started the disassembly, I did not check for the DTC B1193:00 fault. I assume it was present for the airbags and seat belts being deployed. I sent the RCM module along with the front driver and passenger seat belts to be reset or rebuilt to Safety Restore.

The truck sustained side swipe damage to the drivers’ side, mainly the drivers front and rear doors.

Items replaced:
  • Front Driver’s Fender
  • Drivers Uniside (I removed, cleaned, and checked the Uniside ground within the dash area)
  • Drivers Front Door (swapped the original door wiring harness and module into the new used door, left the new used door crash sensor in place)
  • Drivers Rear Door (new used door has its original existing wiring harness and modules still installed)
  • Drivers Side Airbag Curtain
  • Drivers Side Front Seat Airbag
  • Rebuilt Drivers Side Seatbelt
  • Reset the RCM module by Safety Restore
  • Drivers Side Bed Side
  • Passenger Side Airbag Curtain
  • Passenger Side Front Seat Airbag
  • Rebuilt Passenger Side Seatbelt
  • Removed and replaced the original existing windshield with camera into the cab

I replaced the battery with a fresh AGM before the start of the project. I will put the battery on a trickle charger and check the voltage.

.
Reading your Diagnostic output list.
Beginning at the top, reading downward.
When >>End <<comes each time, the next test data result begins.
Look at what is being offered between those limits for each test.
Opens, no communications etc.
These are the faults detected.
The same result is happening too many tests, and repeating in nature.
Wiring is open or damages.
There are several Comminutions Busses that go all over the vehicle plus the power to modules and out to other places that need to be operated.
The print-out looks like a lot of data that causes confusion when what it does is report everything detected.
You just need to condense it all down to the what has been detected and work from the point..
They are opens, shorts etc. and look at the harness for further damage, not seated etc.
This is the help we offer, you have to translate it into action.
The whole vehicle is a wired Computer System complete with Busses and all.
None can be in fault or communications is lost even, between modules.
It would be normal to generate codes by starting the engine every time, when faults still exist.
The system sees them every time, all over again even if you clear them out, they are still there.
Clearing code does not fix a fault that is still present, only those that have been cleared.

Good luck.

Good luck.[/QUOTE]

In your experience with this amount of faults is it plausible I missed a hidden plug while installing the dash? I keep going back to I missed a plug while installing everything.

OP, many of your DTCs are communications related and most of the modules initiating the DTCs communicated over the HS2-CAN bus. I suspect you have a problem with the HS2-CAN bus circuit somewhere. The following modules use the HS2-CAN bus:
  • HUD (Heads Up Display Module)
  • IMPA
  • IPMB
  • TBM
  • PSCM
  • Auto-Dimming Mirrors
  • TCCM
  • C-CM (Cruise Control Module)
  • EPB
  • OCSM
  • RCM
  • ABS
  • SCCM
HS2-CAN bus wires are GN-OG for positive and GY-BU for negative. The only exception is right at the OCSM where positive is WH-BU and negative is WH.

That is quite the repair job. I sure would like to see the end result when you are done.
